Cigar Humidor defined: a room or box designed in various sizes for proper storage and aging of cigars. An ideal cigar humidor maintains between 65 and 70 percent humidity level and also a temperature between 65 and 70 degrees. Cigars can typically be stored inside a humidor for an extended period of time, as long as a constant relative humidity of 65-75% and regular supply of fresh air are ensured. Some premium cigars develop a particularly refined flavor after many years of storage. At the end of the day, the duration of cigar storage is a matter of individual preference, as are most things in the cigar world.
While there are many choices in humidors, as always, personal choice is paramount here. Some prefer to have their cigar humidors small and only hold a few cigars, while others prefer to have large cabinet humidors that hold upwards of 3,000 cigars. Neither is right nor wrong, it’s just a matter of personal preference.
We stock from 5 count travel cigar humidors to 200 count desktop humidors for your convenience, and can order you anything that we don’t have in stock. If you don’t see something you like, make sure and ask, we’ll be glad to let you take a look at the catalog and order anything you wish.
Always make sure to purchase quality accessories for your humidor. While it can be tempting to skimp on the hygrometer and the humidity delivery systems, you’ll most likely regret it later. Analog hygrometers are only accurate to 10% RH, so we recommend using a digital hygrometer. While the old green sponge (or apple peel) may have worked fine for your grandfather, try the new crystals that we carry. They both emit and absorb humidity for a more constant environment for your cigars.
